Spent My 29th Name Day at The Mind Museum

Since I wasn't near anywhere fun on my birthday, I bought one for myself (ano raw? labo!). Hindi na ko nagpatumpik-tumpik pa after seeing/reading about The Mind Museum sale in my email, I immediately bought two tickets for JC and I. Thank you Deal Grocer for that great deal!

My birthday fell on a Saturday, which was really fitting for a trip to the museum. God knows I love museums. We took the train to Ayala station then walked towards the The Fort bus terminal that would take us to BGC. We bought 2 tickets (12 pesos each) and hopped inside the West-route bus then alighted at the second bus stop, Net One as the driver bellowed. From there we walked a block until we got to the Mind Museum's entrance. I love commuting in The Fort area, it reminds me a lot of Singapore. Parang wala ka sa Pilipinas kasi in order ang lahat hehe.

I totally squealed when we got inside. Ang saya-saya lang! :))

These are some of the first few things that you will see when you get inside.

Then we crossed the bridge of light...

and wowed to what we saw on the other end. I just turned 29 that day but it felt like I was 6. Umm...

The star of the museum though is hands down, none other than, Stan the T-Rex. AMAZING lang talaga. This was the second T-Rex I saw this year but the first one I saw was made of Lego bricks. This one looks really legit.

Of course we had to make these faces. Closest Jurassic Park experience we'll ever get :))

Okay this static ball we kept coming back to was turned off when we got inside. Bubuksan daw muna ng guard pero ang tagal! Nakapanood na kami ng show at nakarating kay Stan the T-Rex tsaka lang sya nagbukas. But in fairness to Ate who took our photos, galing umanggulo at magpa-pose.

Meanwhile on the second floor are more cool things to tinker and ogle.

This is such a classic, JC's competitive side came out in a game of basketball. The kid he was playing against looked like 12-13 years old to me but it didn't stop him to smash the kid and be super proud of it. Unfortunately, the kid won on their second game at hindi nya matanggap ng slight hahahaha.

When we got to the butanding installation, I forgot that Stan the T-Rex was the star of this museum because personally, this one should be the star of the museum! Siguro dahil I came from Sorsogon and have already encountered them in Oslob so may hugot factor sa heart. Tsaka maganda talaga sya guys!!

We just can't get enough.

Here's an installation reminding us of main parts of our brains. Ano ang madalas na pinapagana mo?

Ooooh cells!

There's a museum shop outside and much as I want to buy a souvenir I can't. I really like the kids' shirt we saw! Di bale, dito naman ako nakatira sa Pilipinas and I can always come back kapag may budget na ko for souvenir[s]. (pampalubag-loob).

The Mind Museum Store

The park outside can automatically make a kid out of any adults. Kasi ganun ang naramdaman ko! Lahat pinakialaman namin lalo na yung human bubbles (I don't know what it's called though medyo fail sya samin kasi ayaw mabuo-buo!).

And these. I had fun kahit medyo kadiri yung tutubi up close.

In conclusion, isn't it obvious enough how I loved every minute I've spent inside The Mind Museum? Maybe because it was still fairly new or maybe because it's something different from the other museums we have in the metro. It's interactive and we all know what interactions can do to one's brain - it makes it even sharper!

I can proudly say that The Mind Museum is at par with other international museums I've been to. Kudos to Ayala Property Management Corporation for bringing and maintaining this museum for all Filipinos to enjoy. I hope a few years from now they too will participate in the International Museum Day festivities. That's free entrance to anyone and everyone who wants to get inside para naman those people who can't afford the entrance fee can experience the joy and fun this museum has to offer.

Thanks pardner for spending the day with me, as if you have any other choice. Simpleng birthday lang pero rock :D Thank you Lord for another year, I can't wait to be 30!

2013 Birthday Wish

Dear Papa Jesus,

I won't ask for any material things this coming 11th. Not even my usual socks and postcard wishes. All I'll ask is a good health. Please let me be healthy always. If possible, for as long as I shall live. You know I can't afford to be sick :(

Please and thank you.

Love,
Marye

I didn't get a cake on my birthday, instead I got this cutie cupcakes from the Cheese.

red velvet TMNT cupcakes
We all had a long day from work, then flying out to Laoag in the evening and walking around the city in search for an empanada. We promptly went back to our hotel a little before midnight.

Leonard lit the sparkler candles and all five of them in our room sang me a happy birthday song. Humabol na lang sina Ate Patty and Kuya Mac from the other room.

Oiliness is next to godliness
Wow, I'm 12! lol
Here's a close-up of Raphael the cuppy.

Thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday whether on phone, fb, twitter, email or in person. It was nothing fancy but I'm happy I was out of town that day and in company of people that I love. Nuks.

Two more years and I'll be 30. I can't wait!

2011 Birth Wishlist

In a month's time, I will be a year older again. Like a Christmas wishlist that I religiously do, I also write of birthday wishes which do not necessarily equate to people giving me what I wrote down here :)

1) Socks. I will never get tired of asking for a pair (until I actually get one!)
2) Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion
3) New bathing suit
4) Postcard from wherever you are (I'll give you my address if you want to send me one, let me know!)
5) Birthday (pan)cake with sparklers!
6) Daytripper by Fábio Moon and Gabriel Bá
7) G12
8) Beach or any out-of-town trip.
9) Breakfast/Lunch/Merienda/Dinner date with you. Oo nga, with you!
10) Printer ink. Which I think ako rin naman ang bibili haha.
11) Maraming scrunchies!!!
12) A big bag of Cheetos
13) Book, book, book
14) Sana makuha ko na Diploma ko (na for pick up na lang naman :))
15) To eat in a new restaurant/place (just like last year too!)
16) For Celtics to put their act together so I could watch them in Finals
17) A television. So I can watch NBA playoffs
18) Stormtrooper stuff
19) 10 Pesos from each of my Facebook friend (for my 2014 fund hehehe)
20) Earthquake-free Japan (I know it's impossible so let's make it an earthquake-free-for-a-while Japan :))
21) Philippine peace
22) World Peace

Since this is obviously my personal blog, I wish people from all parts of the world who'll land on this page - whether we're friends or not or whether you landed on this site by chance - will give me a shout out on the 11th on the comment section. I would be super grateful if you opt to send me a postcard in exchange for bday shout outs hehe. That's what wishes are for!

Look who's 25

I don't have a lot of time (I got 3 minutes top!) to compose a proper blog entry but I need to write this.

Today is the Cheese's birthday (HAPPY BIRTHDAY!) as well as Quezon City Day (Yay, no work and school for you QC peeps!).

My wishes for the Cheese: saktong sensitivity lang (ilagay sa lugar) , more patience, no more aways please, kabaitan, more money (HAHAHA), strength and happiness.

Dream a little dream and aim for it. Yown lang.

Pool + Bingo Party!

Just when I thought the birthday party (and fever) is over, comes another surprise, And surprised really I was (though I'm practically grilling the Cheese over this one prior to finding out).

My dream bingo party just came true, the pool part was just an addition from the beautiful imagination of my friend Pam. Anyhoo, I'm so thankful to everyone who came despite the venue's proximity. To those who weren't able to come, I'm sure you have your reasons and I respect that. Pero sayang, di kayo nakapunta. It would've been more fun and riotous for sure.

It's funny how each year, new and different set of friends/people gather for my party. Whenever I skim over and reminisce about past birthday celebrations (wherever it may be), I find it really cool that while I could be with different sets of friends, there are also those who remain in the frame, unchanged. For that, I love you guys!

Nihon Dinner

Crossing out my number 3 wish on my birthday list that I did a week ago. A Japanese dinner at Oki-Oki Restaurant courtesy of two of my oldest college friends in UP and fellow Dramachine Beybis, Izay and Honey. Catching up with these girls is always a heck of a fun where we not only catch up about each other's lives but also learn a thing or two from the most random information, trivia or gossip there is.

Thank you and I love you both!

Mazel Tov!

Simple lang pero rock.
Salamat!

Tuwennysix

It seems my country will be declaring its new president not very long now. I am embracing myself for 6 years of leadership under his tutelage. I'm honestly wondering, who will be his first lady? Seriously, I don't and will not accept that it will be her youngest sister. What happens if the newly elected president of a nation is single? Never thought of it. Will research soon!

In other news, I am officially a year older. Perhaps not richer, prettier nor cooler but a bit "wais-er".
Here's to wishing another year filled with delightful surprises, madventures, hits and misses, ups and downs, unlimited movies & series downloads, heaps of books, music-drowning, NBA highlights, stranger's kindness, new friends to meet, old friends to keep, Stormtroopers geeking, food binging, turtle lovin', lazy days in beaches, island hopping, mountain trekking, running free, biking safely, laughing loudly, farting silently, meeting idols & icons, living fully, loving unconditionally, patience, leap of faiths, ice cream treats, humbling experiences, multi-colored dreams, debt-free cards, wisdom, kindness aplenty and free-flowing HAPPINESS.

Salamat, Bathala!

Soul Searching*

Today is my maternal grandmother's birthday, you know, the one where my mother got my first name. So here's to you and many more years ahead. I wish you good, good health.

~~
Obviously, I wasn't able to post yesterday. I was sick and was not able to come to the office, no work, no office internet connection, no blog post. There. I hate being sick. It's totally the worst feeling in the world, aside from being alone of course. And it is especially worse because no one's around to take care of you, cook warm soup for you or just someone to yell at you to take your meds.

That's why I thank the Cheese for taking the extra mile(s) to come and visit sick-o me. Thanks for the Chicken Alfredo and the Gatorades. :)

~~
Even the boss can be frustrated. Why of course they're human too. Whatever it was that was bugging him certainly became too much for him to handle that I supposed, his guard was momentarily let down.

It amazes me somehow, while he can be a pain in the arse, he can very well be a nice chap too. People. He's nice. As a friend. For a boss, maybe not really.. :D

You're just 22. Enjoy yer life. Leave if you must, if you can. Never stay for the wrong reasons. Smile na!

*cos that's what's playing in my list!

Wednesday LOVE

It's the Cheese's Birthday!

And I swear, we shall travel more..

Climb more..

Eat more, laugh more, sing more, watch more, listen more, read more and so many more. But most of all, we shall love each other more. Asuuus.

Happy Birthday! <3

Birthday Post!

My birthday was four days ago but it was only now that I got to post photos and update of what happened that day. I flew back to Manila and was still supposed to go to work but my TL said otherwise. So again, another VL for me. Such a long vacation I never want to get used to this. :D

Met JC at Trinoma at 7pm, picked up the cake at Conti's with Mitch and JC. Was blindfolded for a while (so embarassing!) but pleaded for it to be removed haha. Went to Makati, at Greenbelt. Spicy Fingers to be exact. That's when I realized we're probably gonna watch the same thing that Mitch and Ed watched some time ago: Comic Cartel. I LOVED IT. Kakaiba naman for this year. The comedians were so funny especially Tim Tayag and Mike Unson and that skinny Chinese guy whose name I forgot (sorry!).

Thanks a lot to everyone who came (parang andami no): Mitch, Kuya Leb, Kimi and of course, ang promotor, JC. At sa lahat din ng bumati through SMS, Facebook, Multiply and Gmail. xoxo

Flew solo again. Goodbye Mt. Mayon (though it was hidden behind thick clouds!)

Gorgeous cousins, Mitch and Kuya Leb.

Mga Cheesy! :D

Kimimay and Maryelogs

Goshdarnit. I'm. 25. So. Old. Yet. So. Young.

-Jimmy Eat World-

I felt for sure last night
At once we said goodbye
No one else will know these lonely dreams
No one else will know that part of me
Im still driving away

And Im sorry every day

I wont always love these selfish things
I wont always live...
Stop it...

It was my turn to decide
I knew this was our time
No one else will have me like you do
No one else will have me, only you

You'll sit alone forever
If you wait for the right time
What are you hoping for?
Im here and now I'm ready
Holding on tight
Dont give away the end
The one thing that stays mine

Amazing still it seems
Ill be 23
I wont always love what I'll never have
I wont always live in my regrets

----------
Thanks to all the people who sent their greetings. :) 'tis not the best day ever although i've always tried to make this day fun and memorable on its own way. but hey we can't have everthing in this world. thanks for another year that i survived. to all the people who saw my every waking misery, to all of you who stood by next to me as i was having the biggest rollercoaster of my life. i couldn't give up even if i want to. so hang on still, til i get to where i really wanna be.

..a merry little birthday..

I just want to thank God that I'm still alive and i've surpassed some storms and still hanging on despite everything. I am thankful for all the people He made as an instrument of my survival (tama ba yun?!). :) basta, gusto ko lang sabihin na i wouldn't be here kung hindi dahil sa mga kaibigan kong walang sawang tumutulong sakin, and you know who you are dears! :) so, I guess, even without the cakes, the balloons and all that jazz, the best gift one could ever receive is the fact that I'm still here, flesh and all. And yeah, I am getting old for cripe's sake!

Happy Birthday to me!

Happy Birthday Ate Greyz!!

due to the unexpected events that happened these past few days, i wasn't able to put up an updated online greeting for you. do not be sad though that this is all the words i can give to you because as i am writing this article my mind is now exactly grappling for the right words i have to write in my next story..until then, please bear with me.

So, to one of my perpetual light givers, Happy happy birthday my ate! i do, do love you too!!
