I kinda grew up with these characters. Surely, will grow old with their upcoming films. Congratulations Pixar and thank you for the 25 years, cheers to the next 25!

Rango
This film seriously entertained the hell out of me. For a supposedly "kid movie" they have the dingiest characters ever. I love it!
Although please don't blame me if I kept on comparing it to Star Wars. Rango has counterparts for every imaginable Star Wars characters, and oh that fight scene? Reminded me a lot of the space pod race from The Phantom of the Menace haha.
Dear Mykonos,
Any day or minute from now, you might already show up, kick your way out into this wonderful world. And when you do, your momma, her relatives and friends will also be there to welcome you. Do not be surprised of how much people will be cramped in a room eager to see you.
With everything that's happening in the world right now - earthquakes across the world, the tragedy in Japan, the Libyan revolution, Atom and Patty's breakup, etc. - you might think it's quite an inappropriate time to be born. No. There's no such thing as appropriate nor inappropriate time when it comes to giving birth. Your mother carried you in her womb for almost 9 months now, she made a choice and that choice is you, there's nothing untimely with that.
I want to tell you that it has not been an easy road for your Nanay. The first few months was an emotional roller coaster where hormones are not even to be blamed. She must've cried like she never cried before, spent many a night drifting from one place to another to protect you and herself from unkind thoughts and words. But despite the stress, all the negativity emanating around her, your mother chose to be strong and happy for your sake. This you must always remember: your welfare will always comes first. Priorities have shifted, you are now on top of that list.
In a time where it's easier to give in to adversities and hate, your mother stood her ground, remained strong, kind and forgiving. So, do not be surprised to find out that a lot of people loves your mother. Your Nanay Kimi is one of the kindest and most generous persons I've known in my life. I am lucky to have her as a friend, imagine how lucky you would be too, to have her on your side at all times.
When you're ready to come out, I hope you won't give your mother a hard time. I wish you a swift and easy passage from your little watery world to the arms of the doctor. I hope you cry as loud as you could muster, move your feet and hands as if there's no tomorrow.
Oh the anticipation, the excitement of your coming is making us all antsy. Little-mango-no-more, I can't wait to meet and spoil you.
Love,
Tita Marye
Sale, Sale, Sale!
In answer to Cebu Pacific's Piso Fare, Airphilexpress is having a seat sale of their own. Personally, I believe that theirs is cheaper (if calculated with its real and final price). Plus, their website does not take forever to load nor to book at which CebuPac obviously has been struggling every freakin' time. I'm pretty sure that the same number of people access their respective websites. And no, they didn't pay me to write this (how I wish). It's based on experience and mere observation too.
Go book now at Airphilexpress!

Down to the River
Some of the most successful people in this world had to go through various levels of hell before they got to where they currently are. For those that did, I say you deserve all the reaping you're getting.
~~
Living in the Philippines, where the severe gap between the rich and the poor is as obvious as a full moon in the night sky, can sometimes break your confidence and belief that someday, somehow your life will be better. With the top 10% families raking more money than the entire population of the country, and the middle class families just being their middle class selves, how do you suppose the 65 or more per cent of the Filipino families are faring with all these? This is the reason why I have a love and hate relationship with fancy spaces. At the end of the day, after ogling with all the wonderful, amazing and pretty things behind and beyond the windows, you know in your heart that you are different from them. They speak differently, act differently, move differently. I admit I feel inferior whenever I'm near their kind. I know it's not right but I just can't help it.
But it was something that I never felt during my short venture outside the country. Nor felt whenever traveling/seeing/interacting with other nationalities here in our own soil. Maybe because I see them eating the same food as we do in the same street food stalls, staying in places we ourselves would stay in -or sometimes even in places we ourselves couldn't imagine staying. Come to think of it, where they come from, I'm pretty sure they don't live anything like that. I dunno, maybe they're also middle class citizens of their respective nations but at least I don't see them getting very scared interacting with common people.
With our elite people here, expect the walls to be built up high. They're skeptic that way.
Just some random cents. More on this soon. Kthxbye.

Productive Saturday
Too many errands today. Started at 10 am, got home to rest at 10 in the evening no wonder Mac & Cheese were SO exhausted. Thank you for coming with me!
Seriously got squished on MRT on our way home. Man, I am so thankful to the Lord that I don't have to take the train to work everyday.
Grocery shopping at Landmark. Late dinner. Home. Surf. Sleep. Zzz.
Totoro + Mei
My friend Steve got this for me from Ghibli Museum in Tokyo (he came back 3 days before the Japan tsunami tragedy). My heart automatically went to Totoro heaven. The round black thing on Mei's head is a separate toy (?), it has Stormtrooper face painted inside. Domo Arigato!

Cranky
Walking under the extreme heat of sun will not only drain your body of liquids, it will also severely alter your generally jolly outlook in life. That's the left photo's explanation. As for the ugly facial expression on right, it can be explained. Naturally I was in a sour mood on a crisp early morn because I wasn't awaken in time for summiting. It wasn't that far yes but it's the reason why you won't find me in any group picture. Anyway, I will never return to Mt. Balingkilat again nor climb any mountain from Zambales area. Dios mio sa pasakit, at ang mga puno, nasaan ang mga puno!?

Happy 3rd Kambini!
Mt. Balingkilat, Subic, Zambales
How timely. My point & shoot turned three while I was out, about to succumb to heat stroke. We've been through so many adventures I am so tempted to upgrade her for quite some time now but alas, my financial account won't let me, yet. But don't worry, you're not going anywhere far.
But let's not get ahead of ourselves shall we? Three! In camera years I'd say that's about 9 years already lol.

Hang On Japan!
One moment I was reading about this massive earthquake hitting Japan, and the next thing you know tweets about the horrible tsunami was flooding my twitter dashboard. I ran to pantry, swtiched the channel to CNN and boy oh boy, what I saw made me cringe in horror. The images that I was seeing on the tube was something you'd only think you'd see straight out of movies. But this was really happening, it was real.
My prayers goes to all the people, especially those that were directly affected by the tsunami that was triggered by the massive (and shallow) 8.9 earthquake. Japan is built to survive situations like this, they know exactly what to do in earthquake and tsunami crisis, but still, a tragedy is still a tragedy, and we can only extend our prayers to them.
As of 8:12 PM (Manila time), the after effects, also in the form of tidal waves, have already reached the Philippine area, fortunately they are not damaging enough. Hoping that the second wave will also be the same, until then all Filipinos living in coastal areas must exercise caution and safety by relocating to higher ground. It's better to be safe than sorry.
Fingers crossed.

Huling Gabi

Padyak Time!
Huling Gabi ng Sugarfree
Magpapaalam na ang Sugarfree sa ating lahat mamayang gabi. Hindi ko pa naranasang makipag-break pero parang ganito ata yun chos! But seriously, they've become such a big part of my everyday life kaya sobrang nalulungkot ako. Parang ang hirap lang mag-move on. Kaya hindi ko mapapangakong hindi ako iiyak.
