Are You Who You Want To Be?

A random song shuffling and look how it led me to write here.

This is your life, are you who you want to be
This is your life, is it everything you dreamed that it would be

Such a powerful line from a song that makes you stop and ponder on life even if for a while.

Was this what I dreamed of when I was six? Sixteen? Twenty-six? Certainly not.

I dreamed of bigger things, grander ones that I've come to realize, now as a working adult, are pretty unrealistic. Since then, I've set up goals that are not as far-fetched, something doable no matter the difficulties (after all, obstacles are there to challenge us but never let it keep you from dreaming your dream and living your life, instead let it fuel them).

I wanted so many things in this life that sometimes naiiyak na lang ako kasi alam kong hindi ko talaga maa-achieve sa ganitong estado ng buhay ko. But when the brain fog clears, gusto kong kutusan ang sarili ko because I know maraming tao rin ang nagwiwish sa buhay na meron ako. That's when I say sorry to the Big Man, say my graces and be content of what I have right now.

I'm not a religious person but I absolutely believe in a higher power, a Supreme Entity that watches over us. I dislike it when people shoves down your throat their beliefs, those who are preachy and too godly to the point of umay level. I respect you but please understand and respect that not all people have the same belief as you have.

Anyway, how apt. A pang-semana santa reflection post lang.

10 years from now, I'd like to ask myself again the same question. And you know what, I'm actually kinda looking forward of what would be my answer by then. What about you, was it everything you dreamed it would be?

A Bali Proposal

Who would have thought this guy will pop the ultimate question in an overseas travel? I really didn't.

Guilty much ang ngiti hahaha.

This was the awesome - fine, romantic (wala talaga kong karoma-romansa sa katawan bwahaha) - location.

Seminyak beach

Sabi ko sa kanya hindi nya kailangang lumuhod pa pero sabi nya "syempre kailangan". :)) (photo courtesy of Coco del Rosario)

Eto talaga ang hindi ko ineexpect: ang mga bato! Hahaha. Is this for real??!!

JC and I don't splurge in material things, we'd rather spend most chunks of our salaries in travels than buying stuff such as new clothes, shoes, gadgets, etc. That's why more than the proposal itself, this ring meant a lot to me.

I admit I sometimes belittle JC's romantic diskarte/moves in life, kaya the fact that he had the courage to bend on his knee and ask me those 4 words, the fact that he chose a ring that I truly and honestly LOVE, sobrang saya lang. I'm sure it made a huge dent on his savings for our Machu Picchu trip but with God's grace and kindness we'll still be able to raise the needed funds come 2014 (dobleng kayod at pagtitipid na ito!).

When I look at my ring, I can't help but smile kasi alam kong hindi nya ko tinipid hahaha. Worthy din naman pala ko hihi. So, thank you my Cheese! Thank you for all the love :)

The rocks rock!

Thank you so much to our friends whom JC asked for help (you know who you are)!!! If JC chose to propose in Borobudur instead of here, edi wala sana kaming ganitong pekchur ayiiii.

Abangan na lang ang susunod na kabanata. :)

Breakfast at Antonio's Tagaytay

Finally this date pushed through! Thanks for driving, Mitch and thanks for joining kahit medyo last minute, Amy!

Le breakfast menu.

Breakfast at Antonio's Menu, Tagaytay

What a relaxing color! These were perched on each table.

While waiting for our orders to come, we explored the place and found greens and impressive things.

Please be mine.
Aaand here we go. For starters...

Amy and her golden waffle. It looks plain but it was good!

I chose this Fresh Corned Beef & Eggs House Special.

MItch's Smoked NZ King Chinook Salmon was a surprise favorite. It was divine!

For dessert, we asked the waiter for the bestseller and he recommended the homemade Felchlin Maracaibo Chocolate Bar with Marshmallows. Nagulat kaming lahat sa miniature size but mygehddd it's really good, it's sinful!

We also ordered 3 flavors of their homemade yogurt - lemon curd, apple and strawberry - because one ain't enough yo. My favorite was lemon curd.

On our way out, we saw the Blue Room and unabashedly invited ourselves in for a short photo session haha. That lamp is so gorgeous!

A few more great sets and a view of the restaurant from the staircase before we said bye bye. I wonder if I'll ever return here alam nyo naman, ang presyo ay pang-maharlika! Thank goodness for discount coupons :p
