Nope, I Didn't Buy Anything in Lego Store Philippines

Which required an enormous self-restraint on my part. But yes, I am happy to report that I did it. 

My friend Mitch and I were surprised to see that the store wasn't as big as we'd expected. It was bigger than regular stores but it wasn't as big as I imagined it/ Masyado ko yatang nakumpara sa Legoland stores sa Malaysia.

Here are the 3 DIY minifigs we built. The options are very limited so it was easier for us not to buy it for ourselves.

Oh Star Wars, I could only dream of owning one. One day when I'm less kuripot.

We made do of this section of the store where you can create whatever design you wish. Ang kaso, wala talaga kong talent sa ganito ever.

This diorama of familiar Pinoy fastfood chain, stores, bank, even a salon is so spot on! Eyelovet!

Because I can relate to Emmet. Amen.

The Art of the Brick

The scrimp in me almost made me skip this wonderful and once in a lifetime experience. I'm so glad I pushed though, pikit-mata paid the swanky cashier with my hard-earned $SG15. Ang drama!

A quick chika before I go on with the exhibit. On the elevator going to the 3rd floor where the exhibit was, there were persons on the lift. There were 2 guys talking to each other - one Asian and one Caucasian holding some food (?!?) on a styro - and me. I kept discreetly glancing on the Caucasian guy thinking if he was someone I know or have seen somewhere.

When the door finally opened to this.

He even smiled to me after bidding goodbye the Asian guy he was talking to. Fast forward to the end of the exhibit. That guy on the lift was this guy:

NATHAN SAWAYA, the brick artist himself! Rats. If I only knew.

Anyhoo, the Art of the Brick exhibit seriously gave me all the jimjams. If only I have someone to share it with and someone to take my photos this experience would have been nothing short of perfection, darnit :))

Bitternes aside, I present you some of the best brick works I've ever seen in my life that seriously made me wanna weep while looking at them. But I was alone and it wouldn't do me any good.

For the finale, the star of the show: T-Rex! It was really big too bad I don't have a decent photo with it. I don't like those selfie shots kasi hihi.

If you ever find yourself in Singapore, I recommend that you catch Nathan Sawaya's The Art of the Brick exhibit on the ArtScience Museum. It will run until April 14th so better catch it now and prepare to be a lil kid again!

I Found the Droid I'm Looking For!

Well at least the other half of the great droid duo that was Threepio and Artoo. This is one MASSIVE R2D2 made from Lego bricks! Also a combo of my two loves, Lego and Star Wars.

If you can't fathom its enormousness, allow me to be your visual scale (if the lego display kissing the ceiling still ain't convincing you that is!).

LEGO Imagine Campaign

I saw this little mind bending ad on my cartography professor's fb wall. I got intrigued, clicked on the photo not because of the score he posted along with it but simply because it was a Lego ad.

And so it began. I was supposed to tuck in early last night because of a sore throat but this little game occupied my brain, kept me insane (I purposely did that!) for 30 solid minutes before I gave up haha.

Look closely. Try to guess who/what are these. Clues at the end of this post.

I only got 5  because hard as I try I gotta admit some of these characters were never part of my childhood, cos I'm jologs like that haha, except for the last one which is not entirely from my era at all lol. 

These images are part of Lego's new ad campaign aptly called Imagine where they recreate iconic cartoon and animation characters by using none other than Lego blocks! Brilliant right?

Cambridge satchel bags are terribly expensive so I'd settled for a Cole Vintage instead :)

As a kid I wanted this. As an adult, I still want it. Still can't afford it :|
