Step Up

Congratulations, Mariela.

We are very happy to see the success and the distance that you've achieved not only for yourself but for your team and process.

We look forward to all the future accomplishments and wins that still lay ahead of you.

Thank you for all that you do. It is clear to the team and to the supervisors how much you've grown in the role and how you've helped move it forward.

Keep up the good work. Am sure that between Glen, the POCs and the team you'll be kept real busy. Case you feel there's idle time, let me know. :)

The only person in the company who writes with color blue text is our OM. Na-touch ako hehe. Pati sa words of wisdom ng TL ko.

More than the salary increase (which is not really much but hey an increase is still an increase!) and shifting of role, I take more pride with the recognition of a job well done. That by simply doing my job, I make a lot of people - in this case, the higher ups - happy.

To repeat what I always tell my TL (during evals and meetings), I am not made with the same material as other leaders are, by good heavens I am not, but I will try my best to fulfill what is asked of me. Thank God for transition periods.

Welcome to DYO Land

Technically, NPI Team has about 2 weeks with nothing to do. Janitorial wave sheets are still on hold in the US so we are currently helping in the DYO (D0 Your Own) applications for customisation. It ain't easy but it's not so bad either. Although the thought of "there's no room for mistakes here" scares me. If I screw up, erm, gulp.

What Our Daughters Should Know About Men

  1. If you’re paranoid he’s cheating, then you don’t trust him and the relationship should be over.
  2. Going down isn’t shameful.
  3. Learn how to satisfy yourself sexually.
  4. Men are powerless in the face of female sexuality.
  5. Be honest and upfront about your feelings, and demand the same from men.
  6. Don’t try to change a man.
  7. If he’s annoying when you’re dating, then he’ll be annoying when you’re married.
  8. The first time he hits you is the last time he hits you, because you leave.
  9. “Perfect couples” have troubles too, so don’t compare your relationship to othe relationships too much.
  10. If he’s not willing to work on the relationship, then he’s not invested in it.
  11. Flirting with other women in your presence is disrespectful and shouldn’t be tolerated.
  12. It’s OK to sleep with multiple men at the same time, as long as you’re honest with them and safe about it.
  13. The STD talk really isn’t that difficult to have.
  14. Keeping your man sexually satisfied will do wonders for your relationship.
  15. You both should be able to say “I’m sorry.”
  16. If he can’t laugh at himself, he’s too uptight.
  17. A man who cooks you breakfast in bed, gives you foot rubs, goes shopping with you or accompanies you to a rom-com is worth his weight in gold.
  18. Mama’s boys are unlikely to prioritize your wants and needs above their mom’s wants and needs.
  19. Always trust your gut.
  20. Expressing strong emotions doesn’t make you crazy.
  21. Don’t bother overanalyzing him. His reasoning is likely very simple.
  22. Be able to take it as much as you dish it.
  23. Find a man that truly “cares” for you. When love and passion fade, “caring” takes over until they return again.
  24. Never waste your time with a man that makes you feel bad about yourself.
  25. You don’t owe him a thing, even if he buys you the most expensive dinner in town.
  26. Tease him. And just went he thinks he’s going to get it, tease him again.
  27. There are seven excuses for getting out of anal sex.
  28. You can’t own anyone and they can’t own you.
  29. It’s OK to just listen to him breathe sometimes.
  30. Men need to be cuddled and hugged, too.
  31. Find someone to share your life with, not fill in the gaping hole (not a vagina reference) in your life.
  32. Only you can make yourself happy.
  33. Love doesn’t hurt.
  34. Shoe shopping is great breakup therapy.
  35. Never settle.
  36. Date potential, instead of vainly searching for Mr. Perfect.
  37. Be a lesbian.
After being pressured for 9 hours, it is nice to read something like this at the end of your day. Something to soothe the nerves, something to make you chuckle. And chuckle I did. No. Make that LAUGH. :)

Got it from blairwaldorfs. Nice one young lady!

~
As for my long, definitely tiring and brain-numbing day, well it was that. Haha. At least I can still laugh.

I hate the fact that I have no more time socializing with other people (i.e., office friends, seatmates, YM friends, love ones and not-so-love ones). I have no more time browsing gossip sites and the usual sites I go through every morning. I have no more time to even read the freaking news headline (not that I often do but the point is..).

But the worst part of it all, I have no more time to just lounge around a bit on my lunch break. No more funny coversation with friends, no more relaxing, no more ONE HOUR lunch break.

If that is not sad, I don't know what it is anymore.

10 Reasons You Are Rich

With the horrible slowness of internet connection (I'm fairly aware that it is Asia-wide, darn those undersea cable disruption), we were merely reduced to being very angry and irritated employees. Not exactly towards someone in particular but Man, if you're job depends greatly on the internet then we're kinda doomed here.

And so it goes, with people trying to figure things out about what to do with all that undersea cables shebang, we've resorted to cursing and cussing. How sad. I hope this does not continue til next weekend cos seriously it is NO fun.

On a not so serious note, today is my half-sister's birthday, you know the one I took care of as a baby, ended up bitching my life for a few years as a kid (hehe) but is now a mother already. Boy it's another cycle. Anywhere, wherever she is I hope she's getting by just fine.

~~

I found this stuff while bloghopping (as usual). It was simple and heartwarming that it made me say a silent thank you to the Almighty Supreme Being out there because surely I am rich. :)

  1. You didn’t go to sleep hungry last night.
  2. You didn’t go to sleep outside.
  3. You had a choice of what clothes to wear this morning.
  4. You hardly broke a sweat today.
  5. You didn’t spend a minute in fear.
  6. You have access to clean drinking water.
  7. You have access to medical care.
  8. You have access to the Internet.
  9. You can read.
  10. You have the right to vote.
