Skull & Bones University Food Comfort

A few days after new year, we visited UP Town Center to find so many new shops and restos have sprouted over the months that I didn't get to visit. After a "snack" in Mama Lou's, we went around the mall basically looking around.

When we saw this quirky grass table at The Clean Plate we just had to have a pic. Seriously, I wanna roll on the table hahaha.

We will be back next time for the drinks, Backyard. We were still full when we dropped by.

After walking and checking out various sales, we decided to hang out in one place and picked Skull & Bones just because.

Their couches are the bomb. We all felt at home right away!

We even had a choreographed group photo lol (thanks for being understanding S&B staff!).

We ordered a tasty looking Bacon & Cheddar Bread Pull Apart (at least on the poster it does).

Sadly, it wasn't as great as it looked. I mean, there's nothing extraordinary about it. It's actually something that you can create in your own kitchen with extra cheese and bacon to boot.

I suggest you order their burgers instead. From the menu, they look mean. Maybe next time we'll try those.

Mama Lou's To Comfort the Sick

First eat out of the year with mi chicas and chico at UP Town Center even though 3 of us were either sick or recovering from recent bout of flu.

We ordered two of their best sellers: Mama Lou's Special and Spaghetti Seafood Olio. These were okay but frankly, nothing special.

The showstopper though was their Buttered Risotto. I am absolutely in love with it I'm pretty sure I can eat two servings of this in one seating!

I would like to try their Risotto Tartufo Funghi next time, see which one's better.

Ginza Bairin at UP Town Center

Had a reunion lunch with my Spice Team friends at Ginza Bairin in UP Town Center where we had an amazing server whom, unfortunately, I wasn't able to get the name. There were so many of us and conversations were flying in, on and over the table you name it, so medyo kaguluhan lang talaga.

Nonetheless, I still want to thank you for taking care of us lot. I will remember your face when I go back there. If I ever go back there. It's not you, it's me :)

Vanilla Cupcake Bakery at UP Town Center

Been wanting to try this dainty cupcake bakery but for reasons only known to me I keep on skipping whenever I get the chance. The day finally came when I succumbed and took myself (and the Cheese!) inside their very cute door.

All the cupcakes look great and enticing.

I ordered this Walnut Salt Caramel cupcake which was a poor choice on my end. I was presented with tons of flavors, panicked and ended up with this one haha. Nothing special. Maybe in the near future I'll give the others a chance so I can have a good cupcake story to share about my experience in Vanilla Cupcake Bakery.

For now, let's mull if this cupcake quote is applicable to your life.

Green Tea Oh How I Love Thee

A couple of weeks ago, the Cheese and I visited the newly opened Ayala mall in Katipunan area - UP Town Center. Finally may mall na ang Katipunan universities! Medyo sad lang cos it's really beside UP IS and I saw they opened the gate of the school to accommodate more cars since parking is already full in the mall's designated parking area (this was on a Sunday). I wonder if UP admin is aware of this hmm.

Anyway, as expected a lot of the stores are still closed, others with On Soft Opening and Cash Only signs hanging on their doors. We checked out the second floor too but a lot of the establishments are still closed so we went back to ground floor (yes there are only 2 floors in this mall) and just spent a bit of time looking around Cotton On.

Then the most awaited green tea icecream from Family Mart! For 25 pesos, you get to taste one of Japan's most famous goods. You can choose between Vanilla, Green Tea or a mixture of both. I obviously went for all green tea.

Please excuse my over eager face.

Then last week, we went back again to Family Mart, biking all the way from Visayas, crossed Tandang Sora-Commonwealth intersection then finally Katipunan on a hot, HOT day. No regrets. Only green tea.
