Argo Fuck Yourself

While watching Argo, I can't seem to separate Homeland and Scandal storylines and characters from the movie, which means my TV series life has overlapped in every movie I get to watch (oftentimes, even in real life).

Moving on, Argo is seriously and mind-blowingly good. Okay, maybe the mindblowing thing was a bit of an exaggeration but it certainly an awesome movie. I was on the edge of my seat for the most part of the movie, as if I was one of the 6 Americans secretly being whisked off Iran during the Iranian hostage crisis

I love the cinematography and the stock footage. I never imagined Ben Affleck to be actually good in directing a film, but he did it. I especially loved Affleck's scenes wherein his character, Tony Mendez, need not to utter a single word in order to portray what he's thinking and feeling.

Bryan Cranston in this movie was more of Mr. White instead of Heisenberg, yay!

The best part of it all, Clinton's declassification of the whole operation. The world finally found out the CIA's involvement in the whole rescue mission. How Mendez earned his Intelligence Star has finally gone public.

Carbo Loading at Cyma

Okay. Hindi pantay-pantay ang image size but I did it anyway, put 'em in one frame :))

Last minute call of order (no regrets!) of Spinach and Artichoke Fondue. Who knew eating veggies could be fun. Although I do eat all kinds of veggies naman talaga so matagal nang fun! Lol labo.

Cyma's Spinach and Artichoke Fondue

A closer inspection... I know it might not look sumptuous based from my shots but trust me, it is good!

Ten and I ordered Mixed Meat Gyros...

while Roan settled for Lamb Gyro.

I really like the interiors of Greek restaurants, lakas maka-good vibes. Opa!

Payday Lunch Series: Lemongrass Asian Bistro

Another edition of (long overdue) payday lunch dates. It was Xan's turn and she chose Lemongrass Asian Bistro.

Here's their menu (front):

Back.

Here's what Maricris ordered: Breaded Dory on Medley of Veggies. It was a pretty sad of veggie medley imho.

We also ordered the following: Baby Back Ribs

Asian Pork Riblets with Pepper Salt

Pork Riblets with Honey Garlic Sauce

Steamed Dory with Tomato, Mushroom & Olives

We each ordered rice to go with everything. Frankly speaking, there's nothing special with their overpriced fragrant rice that even if you still want a second (or half) helping you'd hesitate because it's so expensive! This also goes to almost everything we ordered, there's really nothing special about them at all. No meal stood out because of it's uniqueness nor taste. Quite the disappointment considering the steep prices.

Good thing this Sticky Rice with Mango and Ice Cream dessert saved the day! Kung alin pa yung libre yun pa ang nag-stand out (free from Citibank card users I think).

Buffalo's Wings N' Things: Better When Shared

I went to SM Megamall to have a lunch by my lonesome self (haha) and this is what I had: Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings and NY Dirty Rice.

One word: umay! But in a good way (is there such a thing? lol). Their dirty rice was so good I'm giving it 2 thumbs up and suggest to everyone to give it a try.

Payday Lunch Series: Lunch a la Mafia at Gotti's Ristorante

It was payday Friday but we can't eat on a chosen restaurant yet because we were not complete so we opted to eat in Gotti's located in SM Megamall Atrium.

An order of cream of pumpkin that Ten and Rox requested to be divided into three separate bowls. Nice!

Mushroom Bruschetta

Judging by the presence of pesto, I'm assuming this is Pesto Nettuno (I wasn't there when they ordered haha).

The Godfather. Perfectly thin-crusted pizza just the way I like it :)

Lastly, for dessert: Mango con Cioccolato Crespelle.

Payday Lunch Series: When Size Matters

We found a new burger joint near our workplace which was such a big bonus!

Size Matters

Here's a sample of their menu.

Size Matters menu

Like a lot of burger joints that I know of, they also sell various types of beers. They also sell Bundaberg Sarsaparilla (not in photo) which I am yet to taste when I finally get over my kakuriputan (or if a sudden attack of self-indulgence gets to me).

Size Matters

Here's their (I'm betting) home-made iced tea which was actually good! By the way, I suggest that you opt for the combo when you eat in here. To paraphrase baby James, "it's so sulit". :)) Their fries are humongous!!

Size Matters Sausage Burgers

It's the battle of the sizes.

Here's Roan's pick: The B.S.B. or Beef and Sausage Burger.

The B.S.B. or Beef and Sausage Burger

Ten's choice - The I.B.J. or Italian Burger Job.

And mine: The B.I.B. or Breakfast in Bed Burger.

The B.I.B. or Breakfast in Bed Burger

I swear you must be absolutely starving when planning in eating here because their burgers are totally heavy in the tummy. It doesn't help too, that the fries - as I've mentioned earlier - are huge (the fatty, not the skinny type).

All in all my friends and I had a good experience eating at Size Matters so much so that we gladly shared the news/experience to other foodie that we knew in the office.
